Power Electronics Society and All of Us [President’s Message]

January 23, 2023 by Liuchen Chang

The IEEE Power Electronics Society’s (PELS) in-person events are back, including the conferences, meetings, chapter activities, and networking gatherings. We have enjoyed these in-person events. Our hybrid Townhall Meeting on 11 October, 2022 at the IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE) in Detroit featured an open dialogue with three past presidents (Thomas Jahns served in 1995–1996, Hirofumi Akagi served in 2007–2008, and Alan Mantooth served in 2017–2018) and three young professionals (Bruna Seibel Gehrke, Treasurer and Past Chair of PELS/IAS UFCG Student Branch Chapter, Joseph Kozak, Vice Chair of PELS Young Professionals (YP) Committee, and Marius Langwasser, 2022 PEDG Organizing Committee). The packed room was full of laughter amongst pointed questions and serious discussions.
